You’ve most certainly seen it on Facebook. The Black & White Photo Challenge. But, what? And…why? The beginnings of this new viral challenge aren’t clear. Perhaps, it started with posting black and white selfies in support of the battle against cancer. We’re more familiar with flooding your wall with seven photos. No people. No explanation.
Whether you’re into viral challenges or not, we can agree there is something striking about a photo in black and white. And before you say anything about the photos blowing up your Facebook newsfeed, remember…art is subjective.
I’m not going to pretend to be a photographer. Rather, I won’t pretend to know anything about photography, at all. But I do know that sometimes I see a photo and I get the feels. Emotions, spirit and moments are sometimes captured in photographs. And that’s what makes them special.
After perusing our albums of community photography, I found seven photos that I think sum up the essence of Willowsford.
